2016 Genre: Documentary, Drama, Horror, Thriller Running Time: 1h 33m Rating: 14-A. John turns to his wife and child and says, “It’s going to be okay. When the Bough Breaks, reviews, ratings, movie reviews. The movie ends with distant police sirens coming closer indicating that somebody was going to be arrested for the death of Anna. The Taylors fight their way against the psychotic Anna, killing her in the process and taking the already born baby. Laura who wasn’t happy about it demands that she wants her baby back which was really hers since Ann only provided a uterus for the birth. Ann tries to get john to be with her but he refuses and she runs away with the pregnancy. Rather she killed her foster-father, changed her name and had been married once. John discovers Anna’s past records which showed that she was not that an innocent girl at all. After confronting Anna on her obsession with John she kills him and leaves him at the basement of his house.
Her obsession with John interferes with Mike’s plan to scam the Taylors. She becomes jealous of Laura and wanted John all to herself. Meanwhile, the Taylors who did not know about this plan took Anna in after suffering from domestic violence from Mike.Įverything was going fine until Anna started developing feelings for John. It was later discovered in the course of the movie that Anna and her boyfriend, Mike (Theo Rossi) was actually playing a scam on the Taylors all for the money. Laura was very happy about the news compared to John who was that comfortable with the idea as his body chemistry expresses so. The situation was frustrating and not pleasant until a young woman, Anna (Jaz Sinclair) agrees to become a surrogate mother for them. They have tried all attempts but to no issue.
The film tells the story of a successful young couple, John and Laura Taylor (Morris Chestnut and Regina Hall) who were in need of a baby but could not make one. Also starring was Theo Rossi, Jaz Sinclair and Romany Malco. The acting was nice as Morris Chestnut and Regina Hall comes together to spark up a chemistry that was so natural. His wife, though, isn’t around to see a lot of it because, conveniently, she has to make a business trip.Despite its low ratings on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes, I still think this movie was great. His decision-making when Anna starts coming on to him - this woman will bathe or shower at almost any time of day - is pretty terrible. John, a high-powered lawyer, is forced to be the type of inconsistent character you need to make this brand of story work: really smart, except when he needs to not be. Anna turns out to be not quite as stable as she appeared, not to mention having a creepy boyfriend (Theo Rossi of “Sons of Anarchy”). In short order, she is carrying their child.Īpparently, John and Laura don’t go to the movies much, because if they did, they would know that whenever you invite a third person into your happy domestic bubble, whether it’s a roommate or an exchange student or a nanny, only bad things can happen. They are down to their last viable embryo when a gorgeous 21-year-old named Anna (Jaz Sinclair) appears at the surrogate-mother recruiting agency and seems to be the answer to their prayers. Laura has suffered through three miscarriages, so she and John find a willing surrogate, a young woman named Anna (Jaz Sinclair). The plot focuses on a couple, John and Laura Taylor (Morris Chestnut and Regina Hall), who are childless and want to become parents. Morris Chestnut, of “Rosewood,” and Regina Hall, of the “Scary Movie” franchise, are John and Laura Taylor, a well-off couple unable to have children. When the Bough Breaks is a suspenseful, tension-filled picture. “When the Bough Breaks,” about a surrogate pregnancy gone horribly wrong, has a definitive answer: No, it isn’t. Perhaps you were wondering if it were still possible to wring any suspense out of an unbalanced-third-wheel plot.
